Motivated By Love

You are a motivator! Each and every day, God has called you to help motivate those coming behind you to serve Him and love Him with everything that they can. You have wisdom, experience and the Holy Spirit living inside of you to help you accomplish this, and because of those simple truths, you have the opportunity to be a real MOTIVATOR! But, what motivates you? What encourages you to keep going, serving, loving, working and making a difference? Is it guilt? Is it tradition? Do you keep on keeping on because you don't know how to do it any other way, or do you have a hard time finding any motivation at all? Sometimes, we lose our personal motivation and thats usually because what motivated us to begin with was an earthly goal, or something with no long term value. Today, let me encourage you to be consistent, and find motivation in this fact from 1 John 4:9, "We love God, because He first loved us!" WOW What a promise! That God loved us first! We did nothing to deserve it, nothing to earn it, He just decided a long time ago that HE- the creator of all things good, would LOVE YOU and love me! That is our motivation...our assurance and our hope! We strive to keep going because His LOVE is enough! We continue serving, because His love compels us to serve! We stand strong because we are loved by one with a love that knows no bounds! Even in times of heartache, problems or celebration, His love never changes and it never will! Let me end this weeks devotional with this great old song....

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen could ever tell
It reaches past the brightest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from His sin

Could we with ink, the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the oceans dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though Stretched from sky to sky
